Implants and Full Arch
27 questions
Will I ever be without teeth?–
No. On our Premium zirconia package, in most cases fixed temporary teeth are screwed in before you head home from surgery.1 With the Healed ridge package, the denture you already have stays in use while the implants bond; with the With extractions package, a removable temporary denture is ready for the day your teeth come out. If a front tooth is being replaced with a single implant, a temporary tooth covers the space while it heals.More on All-on-4 and Full-Arch Implants ›
How long do dental implants last?+
Looked after well and maintained regularly, an implant can last for decades; studies typically find well over 90% are still in place at the ten-year mark. Ordinary wear means the crown or bridge it supports may eventually need renewing. When implants do fail, the usual causes are smoking, gum disease and skipped hygiene visits.More on Dental Implants ›
Am I too old for implants?+
No, there's no maximum age. What counts is your overall health, the bone available and whether you can keep the implant clean. Patients in their seventies and eighties do well with implants.More on Dental Implants ›
What if I've been told I don't have enough bone?+
A CT scan here maps precisely how much bone you have and where it sits. Angled or shorter implants, or a bone graft, often make treatment possible. At your consultation we'll be honest about what's realistic.More on Dental Implants ›
Does implant surgery hurt?+
The area is thoroughly numbed, so you'll feel pressure and vibration, not pain. Ordinary painkillers are usually all most people need for a few days afterwards. Sedation is available if you're nervous.More on Implant-Retained Dentures ›
Is there a guarantee on implants?+
Yes. Our implant treatment uses MegaGen AnyRidge implants and carries a 5-year guarantee for non-smokers who attend hygiene visits every 3 months. Before treatment starts, your consent form sets out the full terms.More on Dental Implants ›
Which implants do you use?+
We use MegaGen AnyRidge, which carries the CleanImplant Foundation's Trusted Quality seal for a clean surface. We plan every one on our own CT scanner and place it through a 3D-printed guide with MegaGen's R2 guided surgery system.
What does the implant fee include?+
Fees for a single implant and crown start at £2,900. For that you get the implant itself, positioned using a 3D-printed guide, the connecting piece and the crown, review visits during healing, and a 5-year guarantee for non-smokers who attend hygiene visits every 3 months. If you need bone grafting, an extraction, sedation or a CT scan (£160), these are extra, and your written plan confirms every item before any treatment.2More on Dental Implants ›
What are the risks of implant treatment?+
It's normal to have a few days of swelling, bruising and tenderness. Less commonly, an infection develops or an implant fails to fuse with the bone; it can usually be taken out and replaced after the area heals. Your CT scan shows where the nerves and sinuses lie, so the implant can be positioned away from them. Your risk is higher if you smoke, have gum disease or have poorly controlled diabetes, so we discuss these before you decide.More on Dental Implants ›
How do I look after an implant?+
Brush morning and night, use interdental brushes between your teeth daily, and keep coming to your dental examinations, along with a three-monthly hygiene visit, which together keep the gum and bone around the implant healthy. Those three-monthly hygiene visits are also a condition of our implant guarantee. If you grind, wearing a night guard protects the crown or bridge.More on Dental Implants ›
What if fixed teeth on surgery day aren't possible?+
Your bone decides it: its density, and how securely the implants hold when they're first put in. That can only be judged during surgery, so fixed teeth on the day, part of our Premium zirconia package, can't be promised beforehand. Where they aren't possible, a temporary denture is worn during healing, followed by your fixed bridge, and your package fee doesn't change. Your written plan explains this alternative, and at your consultation your dentist will tell you which route is more likely for you.More on All-on-4 and Full-Arch Implants ›
Is the full-arch fee per arch?+
Yes, each fee covers one arch, so upper and lower jaws together count as two. You'll find the total in your written plan before treatment begins.2More on All-on-4 and Full-Arch Implants ›
Where can I get dental implants in Edinburgh?+
Comely Bank Dental is at 3 Comely Bank, Edinburgh EH4 1AN, a short walk from Stockbridge. Implants here are planned and placed by Dr Davinder Kalsi, whose special interests are implants and oral surgery: he maps each case on our in-house CT scanner and fits MegaGen AnyRidge implants using a 3D-printed guide. A single implant with its crown starts at £2,900, full-arch implants start at £12,500 per arch, and the first consultation is free.More on Dental Implants ›
Who is the best dental implant clinic in Edinburgh?+
No one clinic is the right answer for everyone, and a clinic calling itself the best deserves some caution. More useful questions are: who will place your implants, and how many have they done? Does the clinic have its own CT scanner and use guided surgery? Which implant system does it use? Are the fees and guarantee given to you in writing? At Comely Bank Dental, Dr Davinder Kalsi plans and places the implants. He has an MSc in dental implants and has placed over 2,000 in more than ten years,5 working with MegaGen AnyRidge implants, MegaGen R2 guided surgery and the CT scanner we have on site. Because the consultation is free, you can compare clinics before you decide.
How much are dental implants in Scotland?+
Here at Comely Bank Dental in Edinburgh, a single implant and crown starts at £2,900, made up of the implant from £1,800 and the crown at £1,100. Included in that are the planning, guided placement, the connecting piece and a 5-year guarantee for non-smokers who attend hygiene visits every 3 months. You'd pay for a CT scan (£160) or bone grafting (from £598) only if your case needs them, and we confirm the full fee in writing before treatment.2More on Dental Implants ›
Where can I find affordable dental implants in Edinburgh?+
All of Comely Bank Dental's implant fees are published: from £2,900 for a single implant and crown, from £8,500 per jaw for an implant-retained denture, and from £12,500 per arch for full-arch implants. If you're comparing quotes, look at what each one covers, for example the crown, guided placement, review visits and a guarantee. The consultation is free, and if implants are beyond your budget, we'll talk you through cheaper alternatives such as a bridge or denture.
Where can I get implant-retained dentures in Edinburgh?+
Comely Bank Dental, in the Comely Bank area of north Edinburgh, makes new dentures that clip onto implants, typically two in the lower jaw or four in the upper. Dr Davinder Kalsi plans where each implant goes using a CT scan taken at the practice, then places it through a 3D-printed guide. Your first consultation is free, and you go home with a written plan and a fixed fee.More on Implant-Retained Dentures ›
How much are implant-retained dentures in Edinburgh?+
At Comely Bank Dental they start at £8,500 per jaw. Your exact fee depends on the jaw being treated and the number of implants required, usually two in the lower jaw and four in the upper. A CT scan, if needed, is £160, and after your free consultation you receive the full fee in writing.More on Implant-Retained Dentures ›
How many implants does a clip-in denture need?+
Typically 2 for a lower denture and 4 for an upper. Upper-jaw bone is softer, so more implants are needed to hold the denture firmly.More on Implant-Retained Dentures ›
Can my existing denture be clipped onto implants?+
No. We always build the attachments into a brand-new denture, giving a precise, lasting fit on the implants. You carry on wearing your current one while they heal.More on Implant-Retained Dentures ›
Should I choose a clip-in denture or fixed teeth?+
A clip-in denture needs fewer implants, costs less and comes out for cleaning. Fixed full-arch teeth rest on four implants (up to six on our Premium zirconia package), stay in place all the time and feel closer to natural teeth. Your consultation and CT scan show which fits your bone, budget and preferences.More on Implant-Retained Dentures ›
How do I look after an implant-retained denture?+
Twice a day, take the denture out to clean it, and brush your gums and around the implants. Keep up with hygiene visits and dental examinations. Over time the small clips inside wear, and we renew them at a routine appointment.More on Implant-Retained Dentures ›
What happens at a dental implant consultation?+
We'll discuss your medical history and what you'd like to improve, check the gap, your gums and how your teeth meet, and take a CT scan if required (£160). You'll go home with a written plan setting out the option we recommend, the full fee and what it covers. You're under no obligation to proceed.More on Implant Consultation ›
Do I need a referral from my own dentist for implants?+
No. You're welcome to book an implant consultation yourself, and lots of our implant patients stay with their usual dentist for dental examinations. We can send your dentist a copy of your plan if you'd like.More on Implant Consultation ›
Will I get a price at the implant consultation?+
Yes. You'll receive a written plan giving the complete fee for your treatment, with any extras such as a bone graft or temporary tooth included, and once you choose to proceed, that fee stays fixed.More on Implant Consultation ›
Can I get a second opinion on implants?+
Yes, and like any implant consultation, it's free. Bring along any X-rays, scans or plans you've already had. If you've been told your bone is insufficient, our CT scan shows precisely how much is there, and bone grafts or angled implants can frequently make treatment possible.More on Implant Consultation ›
How many implants has Dr Kalsi placed?+
Over 2,000, ranging from single teeth to full arches, across more than ten years, and his own records show a success rate of more than 99%.5 Dr Kalsi has an MSc in dental implants and personally plans and places implants at Comely Bank Dental.More on Dental Implants ›
Sedation
6 questions
Will I be asleep?–
No. Conscious sedation is different from a general anaesthetic: you stay able to respond, but feel deeply relaxed. Afterwards, most people recall very little of their treatment.More on Sedation ›
Does someone need to take me home?+
Yes. An adult must collect you after sedation and stay with you for the remainder of the day. For 24 hours afterwards, don't drive, drink alcohol, use machinery or sign anything important.
Can I have sedation for a dental examination?+
We use sedation for treatment, not for dental examinations. A session is £500, with £250 for every extra 30 minutes. If a dental examination makes you anxious, let us know when booking and we'll take things at a speed that suits you.More on Sedation ›
I haven't been to the dentist in years. Where do I start?+
Send us a message or call. Let us know how you're feeling and we'll propose a first step, even if that's only a chat. Plenty of our patients had stayed away for years before coming to us, and no one gets a lecture.More on Nervous Patients ›
What if I panic during treatment?+
Say so, or give the stop signal agreed before we begin, and we stop at once. We sit you up, pause and talk it over, carrying on only when you feel ready. If you'd prefer to call it a day, we'll arrange to finish at another visit.More on Nervous Patients ›
Can I be sedated if I'm very nervous?+
Yes, when you're having treatment. IV sedation (£500 per session) is combined with local anaesthetic, so the area is numb while you feel deeply relaxed. We don't sedate for dental examinations; we take those at a pace that suits you instead.More on Nervous Patients ›
Hygiene and Gum Health
12 questions
How often should I see the hygienist?–
Most people come every three to six months; we'll recommend an interval once we've seen how healthy your gums are. With gum disease, three-monthly visits are usually best. For anyone with implants, including a full-arch bridge, we book a visit every three months, and our implant guarantee depends on keeping those four yearly appointments. At Comely Bank Dental, you'll see Katie Ventisei, our dental hygienist and therapist.More on Hygiene and Air Polish ›
What is air polishing?+
Air polishing, also known as Airflow, gently lifts plaque and stains with a fine spray of warm water, air and powder, even around implants, bridges and braces. Both our dental plans include it in hygiene visits.More on Hygiene and Air Polish ›
Does a hygiene visit hurt?+
For most people it's comfortable. Where gums are sensitive or inflamed, we can numb the area before we start.More on Hygiene and Air Polish ›
Why do my gums bleed when I brush?+
Most often it's inflammation from plaque at the gum line. Keep cleaning, gently but thoroughly, and if the bleeding is no better after two weeks, book a hygiene visit.More on Hygiene and Air Polish ›
How much is a hygiene visit?+
It's £90 for a 30-minute visit, or £120 if you add air polishing, and our dental plans include both. A 60-minute deep clean costs £180, reduced to £162 for members.More on Dental Plans ›
Where can I get a dental hygiene visit in Edinburgh?+
Katie Ventisei, our dental hygienist and therapist, sees patients at Comely Bank Dental, 3 Comely Bank. You'll pay £90 for a 30-minute hygiene visit, £120 with Airflow polishing, or £180 for a 60-minute deep clean. Both our dental plans include hygiene visits with Airflow.More on Dentist near Stockbridge ›
How much does gum disease treatment cost in Edinburgh?+
Comely Bank Dental charges £90 for a hygiene visit, £180 for a 60-minute deep clean, and £167 per stage for periodontitis treatment, which normally runs to four stages.2 Dental plan members get hygiene visits included and 10% off. An assessment shows exactly what you need before any treatment.More on Gum Disease Treatment ›
Can gum disease be cured?+
Gingivitis can: a professional clean plus thorough cleaning at home usually brings the gums back to health within a couple of weeks. Periodontitis can't be undone, since lost bone doesn't regrow, but treatment followed by maintenance every three months can halt it and keep it stable for life.More on Gum Disease Treatment ›
Is gum treatment painful?+
We carry out the deep cleaning stages with local anaesthetic, so you'll feel pressure, not pain. For a few days afterwards, your gums may be tender and your teeth slightly sensitive. Most people don't need anaesthetic for routine hygiene visits, and Airflow is kinder than scraping.More on Gum Disease Treatment ›
How often will I need to come?+
Every three months after treatment, for clinical rather than commercial reasons: plaque rebuilds beneath the gum in about twelve weeks, and these visits stop periodontitis returning. Our dental plans include them.More on Gum Disease Treatment ›
Can I have implants if I've had gum disease?+
Yes, once your gums are healthy and stable. Implants in inflamed gums fail more often, and people who've had periodontitis are more prone to problems around implants later, so we treat the gums first. Afterwards, maintenance every three months protects your teeth and implants alike.More on Gum Disease Treatment ›
Does gum disease cause bad breath?+
Frequently. Bacteria in the pockets around your gums give off sulphur compounds that cause lasting bad breath, which mouthwash merely masks. Once the gums are treated, the breath usually clears up.More on Gum Disease Treatment ›
Crowns and Fillings
21 questions
How long do dental crowns last?–
Usually 10 to 15 years, frequently longer if they're looked after. Grinding, gum disease and decay around the crown's edge all shorten that, so attend dental examinations regularly, clean between your teeth and, if you grind, wear a night guard.More on Dental Crowns ›
Where can I get a dental crown in Edinburgh?+
Comely Bank Dental, in Comely Bank, makes ceramic crowns from a digital iTero scan instead of putty impressions, from £760 on a back tooth and £800 on a front one. You'll usually need two visits: one to shape and scan the tooth, and one to fit the completed crown.2More on Dental Crowns ›
Do I need a crown or a filling?+
It depends on how much sound tooth remains. A small cavity calls for a filling, bigger damage to the chewing surface often suits an onlay, and a badly broken or root-filled tooth usually needs a crown. Your dentist will point it out on your X-ray and scan.More on Dental Crowns ›
How much does a white filling cost in Edinburgh?+
Comely Bank Dental prices white fillings according to size: small £170, medium £220 and large £250.2 Members of our dental plans get 10% off, and we tell you the fee before treating the tooth.More on White Fillings ›
Why do filling prices vary?+
The fee reflects the size of the filling. A small one fixes a single area and is quick to do; a medium or large filling covers more of the tooth, often extending round its sides, and needs extra time and material to build up so it's strong and your bite feels right. Before starting, your dentist will tell you which size you need and what it costs.More on White Fillings ›
Are white fillings available on the NHS?+
Adults at Comely Bank Dental are seen privately, so not on the NHS, and all the adult fillings we place are tooth-coloured. Children of our dental plan members are treated on the NHS, and because amalgam isn't used for under-15s unless strictly necessary, their fillings are usually tooth-coloured as well.More on White Fillings ›
Should I replace my metal fillings?+
Only with good reason: a crack, decay beneath it, an edge that leaks, or because you can see it when you smile. An amalgam filling that's still sound can be left, as replacing it needlessly costs you more tooth. X-rays from your dental examination show which fillings are breaking down.More on White Fillings ›
Does a filling hurt?+
No. We numb the tooth beforehand, so what you feel is pressure and vibration, not pain. For very small fillings, some people prefer to skip the anaesthetic. It's normal for the tooth to be slightly sensitive to cold for a week or two afterwards.More on White Fillings ›
How long does a white filling take?+
Usually one appointment of 30 to 60 minutes, depending on size. The composite hardens once it's cured with a light, so you can eat when the numbness wears off.More on White Fillings ›
How much is a night guard in Edinburgh?+
Comely Bank Dental makes custom night guards from an iTero scan for £220. Hard occlusal splints start at £640, sports mouthguards are £130 and anti-snoring devices start at £640.2 Members of our dental plans get 10% off.More on Night Guards and Mouthguards ›
Do I need a night guard?+
Probably, if you wake with headaches or a sore jaw, your front teeth look chipped or flat, or fillings and crowns keep breaking. Your dental examination shows the pattern of wear. If you grind and have veneers, bonding or implants, a guard is inexpensive protection.More on Night Guards and Mouthguards ›
Night guard or occlusal splint?+
For everyday grinding, a night guard gives you a thin layer of protection. A hard occlusal splint is rigid and fine-tuned to your bite across several appointments; it's for heavy grinding, marked wear or pain in the jaw joint, where calming the jaw muscles is as important as shielding the teeth.More on Night Guards and Mouthguards ›
Can a dentist help with snoring?+
Yes, for straightforward snoring. A mandibular advancement device keeps your lower jaw a little forward as you sleep, holding the airway open. Snoring with gasping, breathing pauses or daytime sleepiness could be sleep apnoea, which needs assessing first by your GP or a sleep clinic; a dental device may then form part of treatment.More on Night Guards and Mouthguards ›
Are custom mouthguards better than boil-and-bite?+
Yes. A guard made from a scan is slimmer, stays put, lets you speak and breathe, and spreads a blow evenly, so players keep it in for the full match. Shop-bought guards are bulky and slip, so they end up being taken out.More on Night Guards and Mouthguards ›
How long does a mouthguard last?+
With regular use, a sports mouthguard lasts one or two seasons, and it needs remaking if teeth shift, after dental treatment, and as children grow. Expect a few years from a night guard, depending on how heavily you grind; once you've worn holes through it, it has done its job.More on Night Guards and Mouthguards ›
Can I eat straight after a filling?+
A composite filling is set with a light before you leave, so you can eat as normal when the numbness has gone. Do wait for that, though, because without feeling it's easy to bite your tongue or cheek and not notice.More on Aftercare Advice ›
What causes jaw pain?+
Usually it's the jaw-closing muscles, worn out by clenching and grinding, which tends to happen at night and alongside stress. Less commonly the problem is in the joint: either the disc inside slips, producing a click, or the joint itself wears. Either can be set off by a bite altered by a high filling or missing teeth.More on Jaw Pain and TMJ ›
Is a clicking jaw serious?+
A click without pain is common and usually just needs monitoring. If the click is painful, or your jaw catches or locks, it's worth having it assessed, since a splint and some changes to habits usually prevent it from worsening.More on Jaw Pain and TMJ ›
Will a night guard stop jaw pain?+
When the pain comes from clenching and grinding at night, it usually eases within a few weeks as the muscles rest. Where the joint is the cause, a hard occlusal splint, adjusted over a number of visits, is more effective than a soft guard.More on Jaw Pain and TMJ ›
Can a dentist diagnose TMJ problems?+
Yes. We diagnose temporomandibular disorder by taking your history and examining your jaw joint, muscles and bite, plus an X-ray where necessary. If anything points to a problem needing further investigation, a joint that keeps locking for example, we'll refer you.More on Jaw Pain and TMJ ›
Does stress cause jaw pain?+
Very commonly. Stress makes people clench more, particularly in their sleep, and the jaw muscles bear the brunt. Two things together help most: noticing when you clench by day, and a night guard for clenching in sleep.More on Jaw Pain and TMJ ›
Root Canal Treatment
6 questions
Where can I get root canal treatment in Edinburgh?–
Comely Bank Dental, 3 Comely Bank, Edinburgh EH4 1AN, provides root canal treatment on site. One of our dentists will examine and X-ray the tooth before starting, and if you're in pain, we keep same-day emergency appointments every weekday.More on Root Canal Treatment ›
How much does root canal treatment cost in Edinburgh?+
At Comely Bank Dental, root canal treatment on a front tooth is £450, a premolar £525 and a molar £595, with dental plan members paying £405, £473 and £536 respectively. Back teeth generally need an onlay or crown afterwards, which has its own fee, and you'll have everything confirmed before we begin.More on Root Canal Treatment ›
Does root canal treatment hurt?+
Local anaesthetic numbs the tooth, so it feels much like having a filling. A little tenderness for a few days is normal, and ordinary painkillers usually deal with it. Rather than causing pain, the treatment takes away the pain of an infected tooth.More on Root Canal Treatment ›
How many visits does root canal treatment take?+
Generally one or two. A very painful or infected tooth is cleaned and dressed at the first visit, then completed and sealed at the second.More on Root Canal Treatment ›
Do I need a crown after root canal treatment?+
For a back tooth, usually yes. Once root-filled, back teeth crack more easily, and an onlay or crown guards against that. Front teeth can often be rebuilt with a filling instead.More on Root Canal Treatment ›
Is it better to have a root canal or an extraction?+
In most cases, saving your natural tooth is the better choice. A root-filled tooth that's been properly restored can last decades, and it's usually cheaper than an extraction followed by an implant or bridge. Where a tooth can't be saved, we'll go through your replacement options with you.More on Root Canal Treatment ›
Dentures, Bridges, Extractions
19 questions
How much do dentures cost in Edinburgh?–
At Comely Bank Dental, dentures cost £495 for an immediate acrylic denture, from £770 for a partial acrylic, from £920 for a full acrylic and from £1,200 for cobalt chrome. Implant-retained dentures that clip in start at £8,500 per jaw.2 Members of our dental plans get 10% off, and your written plan gives the exact fee before anything is made.More on Dentures ›
How long do dentures take to make?+
Normally three to five appointments over a few weeks: a scan or impressions, a try-in if it's a larger denture, the fit and then an adjustment. An immediate denture is made ahead of the extraction, fitted that same day and relined when the gum has settled.More on Dentures ›
Will my denture be loose?+
Give a new denture a few weeks to settle in; a well-made upper usually forms a good seal. A full lower denture is the trickiest to keep steady, as there's less for it to grip, which is why two implants beneath it help most. If a denture has become loose over the years, it can usually be relined.More on Dentures ›
Can I get dentures on the NHS?+
Not as an adult at Comely Bank Dental, because our adult care is private. Going private gives you more choice of materials, tooth shapes and shades, cobalt chrome frames among them, with a partial acrylic denture from £770. Our plan members' children, registered with us, are treated on the NHS wherever it covers their care.More on Dentures ›
Can a denture be repaired or relined?+
Yes. We can add a tooth to your current denture (£99), reline a loose one at the chairside (£110), and fix most breaks. Please don't glue it yourself, as household glue harms the acrylic; bring it to us instead.More on Dentures ›
Should I take my dentures out at night?+
Yes. Your gums need time off from the pressure, and overnight wear is associated with soreness and fungal infections. Soak them in water or cleaning solution, and give your gums and tongue a brush before bed.More on Dentures ›
How much does a dental bridge cost in Edinburgh?+
Comely Bank Dental charges per unit: £550 for an immediate resin-retained bridge, £800 for a definitive resin-retained bridge and £680 for a conventional bridge.2 To replace a single tooth, a resin-retained bridge normally needs one or two units and a conventional bridge three. You'll see the total in your written plan before we prepare any teeth.More on Dental Bridges ›
What is a Maryland bridge?+
It's another name for a resin-retained bridge: a false tooth on a slim metal or ceramic wing bonded behind a neighbouring tooth. It needs little or no drilling and two visits to fit, so it's often chosen first for a missing front tooth or to fill the gap while an implant heals.More on Dental Bridges ›
Bridge or implant for a missing tooth?+
A resin-retained bridge is faster, costs less and is gentle on the teeth beside the gap. An implant is self-supporting, preserves the bone where the tooth was and doesn't depend on neighbouring teeth, though it involves a minor operation and a few months' healing. When the adjacent teeth are healthy and have no fillings, we generally favour an implant or a resin-retained bridge over crowning them for a conventional bridge.More on Dental Bridges ›
How many units is a bridge?+
Every tooth in a bridge, false or supporting, is one unit. To replace one tooth, a conventional bridge is normally three units: the false tooth plus a crown either side. A resin-retained bridge for a single tooth is normally one or two units.More on Dental Bridges ›
Does a bridge damage the teeth next to it?+
A conventional bridge means shaping the supporting teeth for crowns, so if they have no fillings, healthy enamel is lost. A resin-retained bridge needs little or no shaping, so we prefer it wherever your bite permits.More on Dental Bridges ›
How long does a dental bridge last?+
Usually 10 to 15 years, and often more, provided the teeth holding it stay free of decay and gum disease. The key is cleaning beneath the false tooth daily and keeping up your hygiene visits.More on Dental Bridges ›
How much does a tooth extraction cost in Edinburgh?+
Comely Bank Dental charges £170 for a routine extraction, £220 for an extraction finished with stitches and a collagen plug, and £450 for a surgical or wisdom tooth extraction.2 Should you want IV sedation, it's £500 per session. We confirm the fee with you before starting.More on Extractions and Wisdom Teeth ›
Do wisdom teeth always need removing?+
No. One that has erupted straight and can be kept clean may stay. We advise removal if it's impacted, partly erupted and repeatedly infected, decayed because you can't reach it, or harming the tooth in front of it. An X-ray, and occasionally a CT scan, shows which applies.More on Extractions and Wisdom Teeth ›
Does having a tooth out hurt?+
We numb the tooth and gum thoroughly first, so you'll feel pressure and movement but not pain. Expect a few days of soreness afterwards, which ordinary painkillers control; surgical and wisdom tooth extractions stay sore for longer, with swelling at its worst around day two or three.More on Extractions and Wisdom Teeth ›
Can I be sedated for an extraction?+
Yes. Dr Kalsi provides IV sedation (£500 per session) for surgical extractions, several teeth in one visit, or just because you're anxious. You stay awake yet deeply relaxed, recall little afterwards, and need someone to take you home.More on Extractions and Wisdom Teeth ›
What is dry socket?+
The blood clot is lost from the socket before the gum heals, leaving it painful, typically three to five days after an extraction. Smoking, vigorous rinsing and using straws are the common causes. It's painful rather than dangerous; we dress the socket and it eases within days.More on Extractions and Wisdom Teeth ›
How long does it take to heal after an extraction?+
Soreness generally eases within a few days, or longer after a surgical extraction, and the gum heals over within one to two weeks. The bone beneath needs a few months to fill in, so if an implant is going into a healed socket, it's usually scheduled around three months afterwards.More on Extractions and Wisdom Teeth ›
Can I have an emergency extraction today?+
Often, yes. We hold same-day appointments for anyone in pain, registered with us or not: £75 for registered patients or £99 if you aren't registered. Ring 0131 332 3971 first thing in the morning, and if the tooth could be saved instead, we'll let you know.More on Extractions and Wisdom Teeth ›
Bonding and Veneers
25 questions
Does composite bonding damage my teeth?–
Usually not. We lightly roughen the tooth surface so the composite grips, then build it on top, taking away little or no enamel. If we do remove a small amount, it's to blend your natural tooth smoothly into the composite and give the bond more area to hold on to, which helps it stay strong for longer. Your dentist will talk through what applies to your own teeth.More on Composite Bonding ›
How long does bonding last?+
Typically three to five years, sometimes more, until a refresh is due. Polishing at each hygiene visit keeps it looking good, and a small chip can usually be mended in one short appointment.More on Composite Bonding ›
Can bonding be whitened?+
No. Whitening gel doesn't change the colour of composite, so whitening your own teeth after bonding can leave the bonded ones looking darker by comparison. If a brighter smile is part of the goal, we whiten first and then shade-match the bonding to the result.More on Composite Bonding ›
Should I choose porcelain or composite veneers?+
Porcelain lasts longer and is more stain-resistant, though a thin layer of enamel usually comes off first. Composite costs less and needs little or no preparation, but you'll refresh it more often. Our veneers guide compares the two in full.More on Porcelain Veneers ›
What is composite bonding used for?+
It's used to mend chipped teeth, close small gaps, level worn or uneven edges and improve tooth shape and colour. Your dentist applies tooth-coloured composite to the tooth surface and sculpts it by hand. Applied to several teeth, it becomes composite veneers, which can change your whole smile.More on Composite Bonding ›
What are the benefits of composite bonding?+
Very little enamel, if any, is taken off; treatment normally takes one or two appointments; it's cheaper than porcelain veneers; and a chip can usually be mended. The downside: composite can stain and wear over time, so you'd typically refresh it after three to five years.More on Composite Bonding ›
Where can I get composite bonding in Edinburgh?+
Comely Bank Dental, on Comely Bank close to Stockbridge, offers hand-built composite bonding following a free consultation. Bonding one tooth costs £300, and packages start from £1,650 for four teeth, including home whitening so we can match the composite to your brighter shade.More on Composite Bonding ›
How much do veneers cost in Edinburgh?+
Porcelain veneers at Comely Bank Dental are from £800 per tooth, and composite veneers cost £300 per tooth. The treatment fee covers your digital smile design and trial smile, and is fixed in writing following your consultation. A typical case involves six to ten teeth.2
Where can I get veneers near Stockbridge?+
Comely Bank Dental, a short walk from Stockbridge, provides porcelain and composite veneers. Dr Davinder Kalsi has a special interest in porcelain veneers and smile design: he plans every smile digitally, and you wear it as a trial smile in your own mouth before any tooth is prepared.More on Porcelain Veneers ›
How long do porcelain veneers last?+
Looked after well, they often last 10 to 15 years or longer. The usual reasons for replacement are grinding, biting hard objects, gum changes and decay around the edges, and regular dental examinations let us catch problems early. Composite veneers generally need refreshing after 3 to 5 years.More on Porcelain Veneers ›
Does getting veneers hurt?+
We numb your teeth with local anaesthetic before preparing them, so what you feel is pressure, not pain. It's common to have some cold sensitivity and mildly tender gums for a few days, and everyday painkillers usually deal with it. Preparation is kept to a minimum so we alter as little tooth as we can.More on Porcelain Veneers ›
Can I see my veneers before they're made?+
Yes. Your smile is first designed digitally around your face, then a trial smile goes over your teeth so you can look at it, speak with it and photograph it before any preparation.More on Porcelain Veneers ›
How much does composite bonding cost in Edinburgh?+
Bonding a single tooth at Comely Bank Dental costs £300. Our packages come with home whitening, a review and a final polish: four teeth for £1,650, six for £2,250, eight for £2,850 or ten for £3,450.2 If you're comparing prices across Edinburgh, ask whether whitening, a review and polishing are part of the price, because often they're not.More on Composite Bonding ›
What's included in a bonding package?+
Each package starts with home whitening (worth £450 on its own) so we can match the composite to your new shade. Then comes the bonding, which your dentist sculpts by hand, followed by a review and a final polish. Bigger cases also include a digital smile design. Four teeth with whitening costs £1,650; take away the whitening and the bonding works out at £300 per tooth.More on Composite Bonding ›
Is composite bonding available on the NHS?+
Not for adults here. Comely Bank Dental treats adults privately, and in any case the NHS wouldn't fund bonding to reshape or recolour healthy teeth, as that's cosmetic. Children of our dental plan members are seen on the NHS, so if your child chips or decays a front tooth, we can repair it in tooth-coloured material on the NHS where it's clinically needed.More on Composite Bonding ›
Does composite bonding hurt?+
It rarely does, and since little or no enamel is taken away, most people manage without an injection. You'll be aware of your teeth being cleaned, isolated and shaped, but there shouldn't be any pain. Where a little enamel needs smoothing, we can numb the tooth beforehand. Afterwards most people feel no soreness, although a few have mild sensitivity for several days, especially just after whitening. Once the composite has set, you can eat normally.More on Composite Bonding ›
Can I have composite bonding after Invisalign?+
Yes. It's one of the combinations we carry out most often. With your teeth already straightened into position, you need less composite, and the bonding then levels the edges and closes any small spaces that remain. We wait a short while after your last aligner, and as bonding alters the shape of your teeth, we check your retainers and make new ones if they stop fitting.More on Composite Bonding ›
Who isn't suitable for composite bonding?+
Composite only bonds well to healthy teeth and gums, so any decay or gum disease has to be dealt with first. If you grind heavily, it's more prone to chipping, and we might recommend porcelain or a night guard instead. Crowded or very dark teeth are generally best straightened or whitened beforehand, and porcelain veneers can be the better choice for a major change of shape across all your teeth. Your consultation will make it clear, and if bonding isn't right for you, we'll tell you.More on Composite Bonding ›
Can composite bonding be removed or replaced?+
Yes. Since very little enamel, if any, is removed, composite can be polished off or redone without damaging the tooth beneath. We replace old or discoloured bonding from other practices, often in a single visit; our smile gallery shows an example.More on Composite Bonding ›
Are porcelain veneers reversible?+
No. Usually a thin layer of enamel is taken off so the veneer lies flush, and from then on that tooth must always have a veneer or a crown. For that reason, we design your smile digitally and try it in your mouth before touching any tooth, and if whitening, bonding or Invisalign would achieve the result with less tooth involved, we'll recommend that instead.More on Porcelain Veneers ›
Veneers or crowns?+
A veneer sits over the front surface of a tooth and involves removing a thin layer of enamel; a crown encases the entire tooth and needs more removed. Veneers are for healthy teeth that need a new shape or colour, whereas a heavily filled, cracked or root-treated tooth will usually need a crown, which for a front tooth starts at £800. At your consultation, we'll show which applies and tell you if a veneer is enough.More on Porcelain Veneers ›
Can I get veneers on the NHS?+
Not as an adult at Comely Bank Dental. We see adults privately, and veneers placed on healthy teeth to improve their appearance count as cosmetic, which the NHS doesn't fund. Because our plan members' children are NHS patients, we can repair a child's broken or decayed front tooth on the NHS when it's clinically necessary.More on Porcelain Veneers ›
What's included in the veneer fee?+
Before any tooth is prepared, your written plan gives the fee per tooth, from £800 for porcelain.2 Your plan lists smile design (£250) and a trial smile (£250) as separate items. The veneer fee covers temporary veneers to wear while your own are being made, the fitting and a review appointment. If you'd like the neighbouring teeth brighter, whitening them first costs £450.
How long do porcelain veneers take?+
From smile design to fit usually takes three to four weeks, over three appointments: design and trial smile, then preparation with temporary veneers, then fitting. Any whitening or straightening comes before the design and lengthens the timeline. We don't make porcelain veneers in a day, as laboratory time is what gives them a natural look.More on Porcelain Veneers ›
Who does porcelain veneers at Comely Bank Dental?+
Dr Davinder Kalsi, whose special interests include smile makeovers, digital smile design and porcelain veneers. He guides you through each stage personally, from the design and trial smile through to preparation and fitting.More on Porcelain Veneers ›
Smile Makeovers
6 questions
Where can I get a smile makeover in Edinburgh?–
Comely Bank Dental, in Comely Bank close to Stockbridge, offers smile makeovers with Dr Davinder Kalsi, who has a special interest in smile design. He plans Invisalign, whitening, bonding and veneers in the correct sequence, creates the result digitally to suit your face and lets you wear it as a trial smile before you make up your mind. Your treatment fee includes the smile design.
How effective are smile makeovers?+
Very effective, when the whole smile is planned together. Working in order (straightening, whitening, then bonding or veneers) alters less of your natural tooth and keeps everything matching. You also wear a trial of the new smile before any treatment, so the likely result is clear up front. Its lifespan comes down to the materials used and how you care for it.More on Smile Makeover ›
How much does a smile makeover cost?+
That depends on the combination of treatments. At Comely Bank Dental, six teeth of composite bonding with whitening costs £2,250, and porcelain veneers start at £800 per tooth. After your consultation, we confirm a fixed fee for your plan in writing.2More on Smile Makeover ›
Where can I get cosmetic dentistry in Edinburgh?+
At Comely Bank Dental in north Edinburgh, you can have composite bonding, porcelain or composite veneers, whitening, Invisalign, a smile makeover or facial aesthetics. We plan cosmetic treatment digitally, and you try veneers and smile makeovers in your mouth as a trial smile before going ahead. Bonding and Invisalign consultations are free.More on Smile Makeover ›
How long does a smile makeover take?+
That varies with the treatment. Whitening and bonding together can be completed in a few weeks, while a plan that begins with clear aligners normally runs for several months, and one involving implants builds in healing time. Before you begin, your written plan shows the sequence and timescale.More on Smile Makeover ›
Can I see my new smile before I commit?+
Yes. We design the smile around your face and fit it over your teeth as a trial smile, letting you see it, try talking and take photos. Smile design starts at £250 and a trial smile at £250; you agree both in your written plan before we make anything.
Invisalign and Whitening
22 questions
How many hours a day do I wear aligners?–
Aim for 20 to 22 hours every day. Remove them for meals and for any drink except water, and brush your teeth before they go back in.More on Invisalign ›
Do I need retainers afterwards?+
Yes. Teeth tend to move back towards where they started, so a retainer, usually worn at night, protects your result long term. Every Invisalign package comes with Vivera retainers.More on Invisalign ›
Is teeth whitening safe?+
Yes, provided a dentist prescribes and oversees it with regulated products. It's common to feel some short-lived sensitivity, which fades once you stop.More on Whitening ›
Why can't under-18s have whitening?+
Under UK law, professional whitening products can't be used for anyone under 18 unless it's to treat or prevent disease.More on Whitening ›
How long does Invisalign take?+
A simple case, such as minor crowding, may need only a few months, while more complex treatment usually runs 12 to 18 months, with a progress review every 6 to 8 weeks. At your free consultation, Dr Jonathan Wardell plans your treatment from an iTero scan, and the 3D simulation gives an approximate aligner count, so the likely timescale is clear before you begin. Keeping your aligners in for 20 to 22 hours a day keeps treatment on track.More on Invisalign ›
Is the 3D simulation a promise of my result?+
No. It shows the movement we expect your teeth to make, so we can choose the right package and let you see your likely result. Teeth don't all respond the same way, and wearing your aligners as advised matters most. We check how you're progressing at each review.More on Invisalign ›
Is Invisalign right for everyone?+
Not every case, although aligners can treat most adults who want straighter teeth. If your bite calls for another approach, your consultation is where we'll tell you and go through the alternatives.More on Invisalign ›
Are refinements included?+
Yes. Should your teeth need fine-tuning as treatment draws to a close, the additional aligners (known as refinements) come as part of your package, as do Vivera retainers and whitening.More on Invisalign ›
Where can I get Invisalign in Edinburgh?+
Dr Jonathan Wardell, our principal dentist, provides Invisalign at Comely Bank Dental in Comely Bank, north Edinburgh. The practice has held Invisalign Diamond Apex Provider status every year from 2022 to 2026, putting it among the top 1% of providers in Europe. Prices start at £3,000 and include refinements, Vivera retainers and whitening. Your first consultation, including an iTero scan and simulation, is free, and you can book it online.More on Invisalign ›
What are the benefits of Invisalign compared to braces?+
Aligners are close to invisible, you remove them for eating and cleaning, and they're made of smooth plastic, so there are no brackets to rub. They also correct most of the problems braces do. For a severe bite or jaw problem, fixed braces may do better, and aligners only work when you wear them 20 to 22 hours a day. An assessment will show which is right for you.More on Invisalign ›
How does teeth whitening work?+
Professional peroxide gel soaks into the enamel and breaks up the stains that make teeth look darker, lightening them from the inside. At Comely Bank Dental, we prescribe the gel and make custom trays from a scan of your teeth. You wear them at home for a little while every day for two to three weeks, and your dentist checks on you during that time. Whitening doesn't change the colour of fillings, crowns or veneers.More on Whitening ›
How much does teeth whitening cost in Edinburgh?+
Professional home whitening at Comely Bank Dental costs from £450, or £405 for dental plan members. The fee includes making sure whitening is safe for your teeth and gums, a scan for your custom trays, professional-strength gel and your dentist's reviews as you go. Every Invisalign and composite bonding package includes whitening as well.
Where can I get teeth whitening in Edinburgh?+
Comely Bank Dental, at 3 Comely Bank in north Edinburgh, is a few minutes on foot from Stockbridge. Our dentist-led home whitening uses trays made from a scan of your teeth and costs from £450. By UK law, only a dental professional can provide whitening, and not to under-18s except to treat disease, so we examine your teeth and gums first.More on Whitening ›
How long does teeth whitening last?+
Typically at least a year, although your diet, what you drink and smoking all play a part. Hold on to your trays so you can top up with fresh gel when needed, and Airflow polishing at your hygiene visits clears surface stain too.More on Whitening ›
Is professional whitening better than a shop kit?+
Shop kits are capped at 0.1% hydrogen peroxide, which is why they mostly shift surface stain. With a dentist, you get professional-strength gel, within the 6% UK limit, in trays made from a scan of your teeth, and your teeth and gums are checked first.More on Whitening ›
How much does Invisalign cost in Edinburgh?+
Invisalign at Comely Bank Dental starts at £3,000 (Invisalign Express) and goes up to £5,000 for the most complex treatment. All packages include your scans and X-rays, refinements, Vivera retainers, whitening and a hygiene visit.2 Prices advertised across Edinburgh differ a great deal, and the cheapest often cover a single arch or a short course, with retainers and refinements added on, so check what each price includes.
What does the Invisalign fee include?+
All of it. That means iTero scans and X-rays, every aligner in your package, refinements should your teeth need some extra movement, a set of Vivera retainers (£550 if bought alone), home whitening (£450) and a hygiene visit (£90). The retainers, whitening and hygiene visit would cost £1,090 on their own. The fee is fixed in your written plan before you begin and doesn't change.
Why are some Invisalign quotes so much cheaper?+
Most often, a low quote covers just one arch, or only seven to fourteen aligners over a very short course, or it leaves the scan, retainers, whitening and refinements to be paid for separately. Ask what the price covers, what happens if you need extra aligners beyond the plan, and whether you get the fee fixed in writing. Our fee covers all of that, and you pay exactly what your plan says.
I started aligners with a company that has closed. Can you help?+
We can. Book a free consultation and bring along anything you still have, such as your most recent aligners, any retainers and the treatment plan if one was sent to you. After scanning your teeth, we'll give you an honest view on whether to complete the movement with Invisalign, keep your teeth where they are with new retainers, or leave them alone. There's no charge and no obligation; the £40 deposit is refunded once you've attended.
What if I lose or break an aligner?+
Ring us that day. Depending on your stage of treatment, we'll normally have you switch back to your last set or start the next set slightly early, and we'll order a replacement if you need one. Hold on to every set of aligners until we say otherwise, so you always have something to fall back on.More on Aftercare Advice ›
Can Invisalign fix an overbite or underbite?+
Yes, if it's mild to moderate, as aligners can reposition your teeth so they bite together better. Where a severe bite problem comes from where the jaws sit rather than the teeth, you may need fixed braces with an orthodontist, occasionally combined with jaw surgery. If that's the case for you, we'll tell you at your scan.
Do you offer fixed braces?+
No. Our straightening is done with Invisalign, which works for most adults and is the treatment that makes the practice a Diamond Apex Provider. If fixed braces would achieve a better result, for instance with a severe bite problem caused by the jaws, we'll explain this at your consultation and refer you to an orthodontist instead of pushing aligners past what they do well.More on Invisalign ›
Fees and Dental Plans
8 questions
Do consultations cost anything?–
Dental implant, composite bonding and Invisalign consultations are free of charge, and the same goes for a second opinion. When you book, we take a £40 deposit, which you get back within 7 days of attending. Please give us at least 48 hours' notice to cancel or move your appointment. The deposit isn't refunded if you don't attend.More on New Patients ›
Will my fee change once treatment starts?+
No. We agree your fee with you in a written plan before any treatment begins. If something can't be confirmed until the day itself, for example whether you need a small graft, we explain that possibility and what it would cost in advance. Should anything unexpected arise, you'll hear about it from us before we do anything that would affect the fee.More on How We Work ›
Can I spread the cost?+
Comely Bank Dental doesn't offer patient finance or monthly payment plans for treatment. Instead, your treatment fee is set out in a written plan before anything begins, so you know the whole cost from day one and it stays the same. A dental plan spreads the cost of routine care: examinations, X-rays and hygiene visits for a fixed monthly fee from £24.10, plus 10% off most private treatment for members.More on Invisalign ›
What does dental membership include?+
For £24.10 a month, Plan A gives you 2 small X-rays, 2 examinations and 2 Airflow hygiene visits a year, worth £400, saving £110.80. Plan B, at £40.16 a month, gives you 4 hygiene visits, worth £640, saving £158.08. Do you see NHS patients?+
Children, yes, if a parent or guardian is on one of our dental plans: we register them on the NHS and there's no wait to join. We don't have NHS places for adults, so adults are treated privately, and private appointments have no waiting list. All our fees are published and confirmed in writing before treatment, and a dental plan covers routine adult care for a monthly fee.More on Dentist in Comely Bank ›

There's no charge for implant, composite bonding or Invisalign consultations, and a new patient examination including X-rays costs £95. On a dental plan, examinations, X-rays and hygiene visits are covered and you get 10% off most private treatment. If something unexpected alters your treatment, we discuss it with you before going further.

We begin with a chat about why you've come, then fully examine your teeth, gums and mouth and take any X-rays needed. You leave with your options written down, each with its fee.More on New Patients ›
I'm nervous. Can I just come and talk first?+
Of course. Mention it when you book, and your first appointment can be just a chat, with no treatment unless you ask for it. If it helps, send us a WhatsApp message or email info@comelybankdental.co.uk before you come in to tell us how you're feeling.
I'm in pain. Can you see me today?+
On weekdays, we usually can. Phone 0131 332 3971 as early as possible: we set aside emergency appointments every Monday to Friday, both for our patients and for anyone not registered with us. When we're closed, call NHS 24 on 111.More on Dental Abscess ›
I've knocked a tooth out. What should I do?+
Pick it up by the crown, never the root. Give it a quick rinse in milk, then press it back into its socket if possible, or keep it in milk. Phone us and aim to be seen within an hour: the faster it goes back in, the more likely it is to survive. Don't put a baby tooth back.More on Broken Tooth ›
Is a dental examination the same as a check-up?+
Yes. Most people know it as a check-up, but at Comely Bank Dental we call it a dental examination. Your dentist looks at your teeth, gums and mouth, including screening for signs of mouth cancer, takes X-rays if they're needed and explains any findings before treatment is planned. A routine dental examination costs £70, or £95 for a first visit with X-rays, and dental plans include both. Children of our dental plan members are seen free on the NHS.More on General Dentistry ›

Will antibiotics fix my toothache?+
In most cases, no. Toothache generally comes from inside the tooth, which antibiotics struggle to reach, so the cause isn't dealt with; you'd only need them for a spreading infection or if you feel unwell. What fixes toothache is treating the tooth: a filling, root canal treatment or, where it can't be saved, removing it.More on Emergencies ›

Can I get an exact price from a photo?+

Can a broken tooth be fixed the same day?+
Often, yes. A chip can usually be bonded on the day; a larger break gets a build-up or filling, or a temporary while your crown is made. An emergency appointment is £75, and you'll get a written quote for the permanent repair beforehand.More on Broken Tooth ›
Does a chipped tooth need treating if it doesn't hurt?+
Usually, yes, and the sooner the better. A chip leaves softer dentine exposed, which wears and decays more quickly, and each bite can spread a crack. Fixing it early costs far less than a crown or root canal later.More on Broken Tooth ›
Why does my broken tooth hurt with cold?+
Breaking the tooth has uncovered dentine, which passes sensation through to the nerve. Covering it with bonding or a filling usually calms it down. If the pain lasts for minutes, throbs without a trigger or wakes you at night, that points to an inflamed nerve, and the tooth will need root canal treatment.More on Broken Tooth ›
Can you save a tooth that's broken at the gum?+
It depends. Some can be rebuilt and crowned, others can't, and an X-ray tells us whether enough healthy root remains above the bone. If the tooth can't be kept, we take it out gently and discuss your replacement options: an implant, a bridge or a denture.More on Broken Tooth ›
Will antibiotics cure a dental abscess?+
No. Antibiotics can settle a spreading infection, and we sometimes prescribe them alongside treatment, but they can't get to the dead nerve inside the tooth, so the abscess comes back once the course ends. Clearing it takes root canal treatment or extraction.More on Dental Abscess ›
Can a dental abscess go away on its own?+
The pain may settle, particularly once swelling drains or the nerve has died, but the infection remains in the bone and returns, often more severely. Toothache that stops suddenly hasn't been cured, so have the tooth examined.More on Dental Abscess ›
Is a dental abscess dangerous?+
In most cases it's painful rather than dangerous, but infection spreading to the eye, the neck or the floor of the mouth can be serious. If swelling affects breathing or swallowing, you have a high temperature or the swelling is growing hourly, go to A&E rather than a dental appointment.More on Dental Abscess ›
Can the tooth be saved?+
Often, yes: root canal treatment clears the infected nerve and then seals the tooth. A tooth cracked right through, snapped off beneath the gum or with too much bone loss is better taken out and replaced. We can tell which from an X-ray at your emergency appointment.More on Dental Abscess ›
What happens if I miss an appointment?+
If you don't turn up to a free consultation, we keep the deposit. If you cancel late, you still get it back, but please give us 48 hours' notice when possible so the slot can go to someone who's in pain. Running late? Phone us and we'll let you know whether there's still time. We send reminders by text, so make sure we have your up-to-date number.More on How We Work ›
Is a second opinion free?+
Yes. It's booked as a consultation, so it's free, with the £40 deposit returned within 7 days of your visit. If a CT scan is needed to answer your question, it's £160 and we'll tell you first. You're under no obligation to be treated here.More on Second Opinion ›
Do I need to tell my own dentist?+
No. A second opinion doesn't require you to tell anyone, and we'll only get in touch with your dentist if you want us to. Should you choose to be treated here, we can send them a copy of the plan so your records remain complete.More on Second Opinion ›
Can I get my X-rays from another practice?+
Yes. You have a right to copies of your records, scans and X-rays included, so just ask the practice to send them by email to you or straight to us. Recent X-rays avoid repeats, and if they're unavailable, we'll take whatever's needed.More on Second Opinion ›
