Implant-Retained Dentures in Edinburgh: A Denture That Doesn't Move

A new denture that clips onto 2 implants in your lower jaw or 4 in your upper jaw, planned by Dr Davinder Kalsi on the CT scanner at our Comely Bank practice. It costs less than fixed full-arch teeth, holds steady while you eat, talk and laugh, and still comes out to be cleaned.

From £8,500 per jaw. A free consultation comes first, then your written plan confirms the fee.2

Why Patients Choose Them

For anyone whose denture slips, rubs or relies on adhesive to stay in.

Stays in Place

It clips to the implants and holds firm while you eat, talk or laugh, with no adhesive.

Eat More Comfortably

You can bite and chew more confidently than a loose denture allows.

Fewer Sore Spots

A denture that stays still rubs your gums much less.

Removable to Clean

Lift it out, clean both the denture and the implants, and clip it back.

Fewer Implants Needed

Only 2 for a lower denture or 4 for an upper, so the cost is lower than full-arch implants.

Planned on Our CT Scanner

We plan every implant in 3D, then place it through a 3D-printed guide.

How It Works

We always make you a new denture with the attachments built into it, so it matches the implants precisely.

1

Free Consultation and CT Scan

We look at your gums, your bone and the denture you wear now, then explain the options and their fees. If you need a CT scan, it's £160.

2

Implants Placed

Placed through a 3D-printed guide, with local anaesthetic and IV sedation if you want it. You carry on wearing a denture as the implants heal.

3

Your New Denture Fitted

When healing is complete, normally a few months later, we make your new denture with its attachments built in and clip it into position.

4

Looking After It

Regular dental examinations and hygiene visits keep the implants in good health. The small clips inside the denture gradually wear, and we change them at a routine appointment.

Is It Right for You?

It tends to suit you if:

Your denture slips, causes sore spots or needs adhesive
You prefer a denture that you can take out
You'd like something that costs less than fixed teeth
Your general health is good

When It Needs More Planning

Too little bone. The CT scan will reveal it, and a bone graft may help
Gum disease or diabetes not yet under control. That's treated first
You smoke heavily, so implant healing is less predictable

The consultation and CT scan give you an honest answer on whether implants can work for you.

Clip-in Denture or Fixed Teeth?

Implants hold both. What separates them is whether they come out.
